The first of The Black Pearl in a 5wt version.

The rod is besides the hardware as black as possible. Insert is made of old bog oak and in a satin shine,the reel seat is an up- and down lock version made from Nickel silver hardware with a black butt. The Snake brand guides, the stripping guide are wrapped with kimono black and Lime Ricci green as signature tipping.

This is a new translucent blank of the Tom Morgan Rodsmith.

The colour is a kind of magic, in darker weather almost black and in sunny weather so nice translucent.
First there was the blank and later on this reel showed up on my bench, with the question, make a nice combi of it.
The spool of the reel is PEI and this is great stuff, light strong an a nice colour to (Reel is from Leen Huisman) and to order via Alternative tackle.

Tom Morgan 6’9” 3wt

This rod is finished with a cork insert and a Ritz style cork grip. The blank is one of the last NOS blanks and made when Mr. Morgan was still in the company. Tried to give the rod a clean look. Only top flor cork grip and insert.Hardware is polished Nickel Silver with a bruched butt. Milk Glass agate of Joe Arguello and Original Snake Brand guides are wrapped with Claret Pearsall’s Gossamer and some green signature tipping.

Last proto’s of the new models of “The Pure”The 6’8″ 2/3wt is finished with polished aluminium hardware and a black mircata butt.
The 7’4” 6 wt is finished with dark Nickel Silver Bellinger down lock hardware, insert is made of burl Maple.
Both of the rods have Snake Brand guides and are wrapperd with a very classic brand out of France “Au Ver a Soie” in the colour burnt orange.
The proto’s are in yellow glass but in production they coming in the translucent tobacco colour.
