From blank to finished rod — crafted entirely by hand
Building a fly rod is not just a craft — it is a meditation. Every step requires focus, patience, and a deep understanding of materials.
Everything begins with the blank. Premium blanks from McFarland, Ijuin-Rod, and Tom Morgan — each chosen for its action and feel.
The handle is shaped from premium cork. The reel seat carefully selected and fitted precisely.
Guide placement is critical to casting performance. Nico calculates spacing individually for each rod.
Guides are bound with fine rod-wrapping thread in single- or multi-colour patterns.
Multiple coats of epoxy are applied, turned on a drying motor for a glass-smooth finish.
Every rod is flex-tested before delivery. Each rod comes with a custom tube and sock.
Every Yamame rod can be built to your exact specs. Lead time typically 6–10 weeks.
